RTAI首次面对面Meetup在Cary图书馆成功举行

2024年9月30日星期一晚7点,北卡三角区人工智能社区群(RTAI)在Cary图书馆成功举办了首次面对面Meetup。活动吸引了20位对人工智能充满热情的专业人士参加,现场气氛热烈,取得了圆满成功。

活动伊始,每位与会者进行了简短的自我介绍。参与者中有大学教授、行业专家、软硬件工程师,以及其他对AI感兴趣的各领域专业人士。大家畅所欲言,分享了各自的背景和对人工智能的见解,为后续的讨论奠定了良好的基础。

随后,群主详细介绍了本群的项目指南和每个项目的具体需求。本次共推出了五个项目,涵盖了大模型微调、机器人、AI辅助编程,以及使用大模型识别图形和表格等领域。每个项目都得到了与会者的积极响应,多人踊跃报名,体现了大家对AI技术探索和实践的热情。

此次Meetup的成功举办,不仅为RTAI成员提供了一个面对面交流的平台,也为未来的合作和项目推进奠定了坚实的基础。与会者纷纷表示,期待下一次的聚会,共同推动北卡三角区人工智能社区的发展与创新。

这是我们组织的第一次面对面会议。一方面方便大家互相认识一下便于以后的合作。另一方面讨论一下 Group projects,并现场报名。这次会议我们预约了两个场地:Oberlin Library(容纳 45 人),Cary Library(容纳 20 人)。如果最后报名人数少于 20人,会议地点将在 Cary Library,否则是在 Oberlin Library。

Member: Yu Yang (Ph.D., PE, PMP)

Yu Yang (Ph.D., PE, PMP) had worked as a water engineer for about 10 years. Currently he is working full time as a data scientist. His primary interests include web development, machine learning, AIGC, and large language model (LLM). His representative side projects are as follows.

  1. Chrome extension: Engineer Unit Converter
  2. AIGC related Book: Poems from Tang Dynasty Meet AI
Member: Chong Ding

Chong Ding was born in Shenyang, China. After moving to the US in 2003, Chong received a master's degree in electrical engineering from University Missouri-Rolla, as well a MBA from Duke University. Chong is currently working on chip design for compute and AIs.

Chong's interests in AI goes back around 2015, at the time he finished several online courses such as Machine Learning, Udacity Deep Learning NanoDegree. Chong is interested in building applications based on large language models.

Member: Jeff Du

Jeff Du, a graduate from Sun Yat-sen University (中山大学) and Duke, has been working in bioinformatics and biostatistics for several years. Alongside his professional work in NGS data analysis and large scale programming work, he also has strong interest in applying AI techniques to everyday life. On weekends, he likes to spend time on projects involving computer vision and building his own home security system. In his free time, he also enjoys marathon running and participating in triathlons.
