Abstract
Multi-sided marketplace business is ubiquitous in our day-to-day life, from e-commerce, ride sharing, food delivery to advertising. Over the past decade, the efficiency and effectiveness of operating such marketplaces have been greatly improved due to innovations in AI.

In this talk we will examine several representative marketplace optimization problems and explore how techniques in machine learning, data science, operations research, economics and econometrics can be leveraged to uplevel the marketplace optimization.

Dr. Yunxiao Liu is currently a Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager at Reddit, where he leads the Ads Marketplace team. Prior to that he was a Machine Learning Engineering Manager at Twitter, and Applied Scientist at Uber. His professional career has focused on multi-sided marketplace optimization, machine learning, data science and advertising. Dr. Liu received his PhD in Statistics and Operations Research, and Master of Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
