Research Triangle AI is excited to launch a new program for K-12 students, parents, and educators: an afternoon dedicated to AI education and ethics, built around two things — real conversation and real student work.

Part one: an expert panel. We're bringing together four leading voices in AI, education, and ethics — plus a high school student who'll share what AI in the classroom actually looks like from a student's seat. Our panelists are:

  • Dr. Todd Cherner — Director of the Master of Arts in Educational Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, UNC
  • Dr. Jana Schaich Borg — Neuroscientist and Moral AI Researcher, Duke University
  • Ms. Kimberly Jones — Teacher, Chapel Hill High School, and NC Teacher of the Year 2023
  • Ms. Meredith Ward Hill — Emerging Technologies Consultant, NC Department of Public Instruction

Part two: a student project showoff. We're inviting AI-savvy K-12 students to submit their own projects for a chance to present them at the event. It's a great way to get your work in front of a real audience, meet other students who share your interests, and sharpen your presentation skills.

Student project submissions are due September 25: https://forms.gle/F2RbEuAEthZ8dUzCA

Whether you're a student building your first AI project, a parent trying to understand what AI in education means for your kids, or an educator navigating how to teach with (and about) AI responsibly, this event is for you.

Space is limited to 200 attendees, so register early
